Pediatric Travel Consults – Travel Medicine and Vaccines
At AFC Beverly we know that parents spend a lot of time meticulously planning every detail of their family vacation. We know that nothing beats the joy you get when you hear your kids laugh and play. And we also know, that the feeling you get when your kids look back at you with big happy smiles on their faces, is absolutely priceless.
Traveling has always been about leaving home and going to new and exciting places. But being in unfamiliar territory, seemingly routine troubles like an upset stomach or diarrhea can become massive stressors for parents. The very thought of having to visit a doctor in a foreign location, in addition to worrying about missing flights, cancellations, travel medical insurance and worst-case scenarios, is not something any parent enjoys. Which is why we recommend precaution and preventative measures before traveling for all parents.
We have helped hundreds of families like yours get well prepared for their epic family vacation. In fact, our own staff has traveled extensively with their kids and know exactly the issues you can face. Our board-certified physicians can review your family’s medical history including allergies and past medications (if any) along with your itinerary to guide you as to what to watch out for.
We also stock most travel medicine and vaccines to give you the absolute convenience of everything getting done in a single stop. But more importantly, we don’t try to oversell you on anything. Our doctors understand that the risks when traveling for a beach vacation are different from those when going to Africa for a lion safari. Therefore, we only recommend vaccines and travel medicine after carefully looking at your travel plans and medical history.
At AFC Beverly, there are no appointments and you can simply walk-in anytime. We’re even open on weekends. If you feel comfortable in calling ahead and scheduling a consult for you and your family we can certainly accommodate that too. Please do note that we only provide travel consults for children older than 6 months of age. We also know that kids can be a little challenging sometimes (especially given the anxiety associated with shots) so we’ve got a kid-friendly waiting room and our highly trained staff will make them feel at home. We’ll even try to give you priority if we can. So what are you waiting for, visit our pediatric travel clinic today!
