What drugs can you test for?

5-panel drug test

The most common drug screening test we offer is a 5-panel test that covers the most commonly used drugs. This is the same test as mandated by DOT agencies (FAA, FMCSA, USCG, PHMSA etc.) and can detect a host of drugs including:

  1. Amphetamines (speed, crack, crystal/meth variations, crank, rock, ice, etc.)
  2. Marijuana (synthetic and other THC variants)
  3. Cocaine (crack cocaine, coke, powder, snow, etc.)
  4. Opioids (heroin, opium, codeine, morphine)
  5. Phencyclidine (PCP)

 

10+ panel drug testing and extended drug testing

Although the 10+ panel drug tests are less commonly used, many employers are beginning to utilize extended drug testing in high risk areas. Depending on the geographical location of your business and workforce and specific concerns, this test can be individualized for specific very drugs.

The typical 10 panel test includes all the drugs in the 5 panel test but additionally, it can also detect the use of pain killers, benzodiazepines, methaqualone, barbiturates, ecstasy, methadone.

 

How accurate are these tests?

Although the scientific basis of these tests is sound the method of sample collection (the type of test) can have different detection windows. For example, urine tests can typically only detect drug usage in the last 3-15 days. Whereas hair follicle drug tests can detect drug use in the past 90 days.
